Botolinum Toxin
Botolinum toxin or the process we call botox among the people is actually a medical drug application applied to provide temporary paralysis of the muscles. Its duration of effect is limited. Although it varies from patient to patient, it has an effectiveness period of 3 to 6 months. Botolinum toxin applications are not limited to a single disease.
It is most frequently used in the treatment of migraine in the neurology outpatient clinic. However, apart from migraine treatment, botulinum toxin applications are made due to involuntary twitches in the facial muscles, involuntary movements or contractions in the facial muscles after facial paralysis. During the application, injections are made at different appropriate points with a small injection needle. Injection is applied to approximately 24 to 32 different points in the skin area.
